Your Stay
We may be off-grid, but we’re not that wild — here’s what you can expect besides stars and silence in your private hike-in cabin.
A separate building includes:
During cold days you’ll enjoy the wood stove. The cabin is also equipped with a propane heater for cool summer nights.
We do have power but it is limited. You are provided 4000 watt hours of power during your stay. This is plenty to operate the lights, charge your devices/computer, run the water pump. Leave the heavy equipment at home like hair blowers, toasters and power tools.
Nope. This is an unplugged experience. Cellular is poor but still good enough to make phone calls. If you want to watch a movie or other content download it before you arrive.
If you like hot tubs, we’ve got you covered. A wood fired 6 seat hot tub is provided for your enjoyment. Water is replaced for every visitor so you won’t be grossed out.
A metal fire pit is provided to roast hotdogs and enjoy s'mores. Firewood is free.
There is a propane barbeque to cook large chunks of meat or vegetables - if you like vegetables.
Safety
You are alone. Not like the TV show Alone but there is no one here to bother you. Enjoy the seclusion.
This location is wild so other creatures call this place home throughout the year. Deer, elk, moose, black bears, grizzly bears, cougars, coyotes, lynx, skunks, ground hogs, rabbits, marten, squirrels and many types of birds have been spotted on trail cameras throughout the forest. Pretty cool actually. That being said, the property is very safe to walk and enjoy. I do provide bear spray if you are so inclined.
We love dogs (we have a dog) but this isn’t the place for them so they need to stay home. Sorry.
There are two active on demand cameras that monitor activity on the property; the parking lot and a location on the service access. Please do not leave anything of value in your vehicle. We haven’t had any issue but we want you and your valuables to be safe and not sorry.
What to bring?
Not much....
Sturdy footwear (you are walking on forest trails so you need decent ankle support). A change of clothes (or not), personal hygiene items and food (like a big steak or ribs).
Ok we said to bring food but we do have some staples on site to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. We provide fresh coffee creamer, pancake mix, flour, sugar, pasta, coffee beans (we have a grinder), tea, water, condiments (ketchup, mustard)...
What to do?
Wrong place if you want to be BUSY!
This location is all about a change of cadence. Slow down. Enjoy your time away from [whatever you need a break from].
However; we do have some walking/hiking trails on property. Wildlife viewing and bird watching are at your finger tips. Other off property ideas are provided at the cabin.
